There was a pregnant pause in the room.
Both girls stared at each other.
Bant blinked. "He..."
"Lip to lip." Siri said with a grin, somewhat dreamily.
"New." Bant said.
"I know." Siri sighed. "But what can you do?"
"So....is this a feelings thing?"
"I don't know!" Siri said, sounding very frustrated. "I like him, a lot and...I really like his lips, if only he didn't talk such rubbish sometimes. Whats a girl to do?"
"Whats a Jedi to do?" Bant corrected her.
"Oh, relaaaaax." Siri sighed. "It's not like we slept together."
There was another, more tension filled pause before the slightly inebriated Masters fell into giggles. Siri slipped form the chair to the floor and Bant doubled over, both turning into giant heaps of Jedi robes and tears of laughter.
"Oh, you really had me going!" Bant laughed.
Siri laughed, "Oh yes, cause I annoyed him and then we had wild bantha sex."
Bant laughed but she was alone, as Siri had stopped. "It's funny." She said.
"Yes." Siri grinned. "It's also true."
Bant didn't have time to react, as Siri's shirt started to beep. "I think your comm is going."
"Oh, that's why my breast is beeping." Siri said, answering tiredly. "Tachi."
"Your presence is required in the council chambers."
"On my way." Siri said, standing and stumbling slightly.
"Come on, we'll get you some caffeine." Bant says, taking her arm. "Otherwise you'll be proposing to Obi-Wan in the middle of a meeting - and possibly half the other council members too!"
" - And the immediate threat to the Senator has once again, become clear."
Obi-Wan looked to see what had stopped Master Windu and drawn his disapproving gaze. He was met with the very sheepish eyes of Siri Tachi, slipping into the coucil chambers and she bowed at them. He did notice she seemed a little unsteady but thought not much of it: Siri had been a little strange little. But then again, wasn't she always a little strange?
"Master Tachi," Master Windu addressed her. "You will take Senator Amidala back to her home planet of Naboo. There she has been safe before and there she will be safe again."
Obi-Wan knew Anakin would not be happy. He would have expected the council to have him take her, but they were wary of their relationship. As they should be, he reminded himself. He could not ignore the signs of a blossomed love between them but he tried to ignore it, for both their sakes, as they seemed so much happier together.
Siri took the assignment and left with a slight stumbling. He made a note to speak her, once he had informed Anakin. That was going to be a fun conversation.
"I don't want to go."
Anakin took Padme's arms and kissed her, but forced a smile. "I don't want you to go."
"But you must."
They watched the transport being loaded and a more irritable than usual Siri barking orders left right and center had not noticed the two as they attempted - once again - to say goodbye.
"I will come back soon."
Anakin nodded, "I'll think of you. Every moment."
"Every moment." Padme said, leaning her hand on his cheek. "It will be alright."
Anakin nodded, "Be careful."
She nodded, lining down his scar. "You too."
"Senator," Captain Typho interrupted uncomfortably. "It's time to go."
She nodded, and gave another sad look to Anakin as she boarded the transport with a Jedi Master in tow. She took a moment before she was ushered in by a babbling C-3PO and beside Anakin, even Artoo gave a sad whir.
